The space I want to create is organic, not a death, boring building but an interesting, warm architecture with a lot of communication or relaxing area like gardens and terrace to connect the different function areas.

week 5 project one

Hero image

Thins building is design for both off white and auto fabrica, I choose this one as hero image because it shows my concept, emphasis the city vibe background, the skyscrapers are modern, but the dawn conveys a feeling of past. And this image captures the tower shape staircase well, which connected with the glasses exhibition hall. I placed a cafe area for customers, businessman and visitors, and a triple hight space to create an opening spaces bring breathes.

This detail shoot of the staircase underfloor is the for the connection between auto fabrics’s workshop and the exhibition area, the streamline metal handrail can be describe as durable which is also the concept of my design for this client. 
The material I choose for the step is wood and glass to combines retro style underground floor and modern ground floor.

Following the philosophy of Virgil Abolh, everything in "quotes", I designed this wall with the a few glass windows which provide a transparency view for visitor outside to see inner space of off white workshop and the fashion runway on the opening terrace. , we don't need to explain what this brand is, the answer is create by both off white itself and different observers.

Week 2 The Stair

This above stair looks like a snake, I want to show the feeling of walking from the past to the future,  I use an arrow for the highest step to show the way for the visitors but also use it to match the feature of off white’s famous printing. If it is possible, I even want to print “ for climbing” on this stair, because I like the philosophy of Virgil Abloh—put everything in “quotes”. I use some geometric shapes to try to make a strong visual attraction, that what off white’s design did. 

The underground level is Auto Fabrica’s workshop, I m trying to create a connector between  modern underground showroom and old school style workshop，which I want to use steam punk decorations to represent the feature of Auto Fabrica.  So I use steel pipe as the handrail of the stair but old timber for the steps.
